At Five Months Old, Walmart's Membership Program Is a Hit

Walmart isn't releasing many numbers associated with its membership program Walmart+, but according to a recent report, one number, at least, bodes very well indeed. Just five months after the retailer launched what some dubbed its answer to Amazon Prime (Walmart itself resists this comparison), the service has gained between 7.4 and 8.2 million members, according to estimates from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners. Data from an earlier survey indicated that 11% of Americans signed up for the program within two weeks of its launch. 

Walmart+ members currently account for about 13% to 14% of total shoppers as of Jan. 30, per the report.
