Barnes & Noble Hit with a Data Breach

Though it could have been worse, the cyberattack that hit Barnes & Noble still managed to access the personal information of customers. The bookseller said that no financial information had been compromised, but billing and shipping addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses were potentially accessed during the attack, as well as transaction histories. Addresses, phone numbers, and names are valuable commodities on the black market, because they can be used to steal identities and money. Barnes & Noble alerted customers to the data breach in an email last Monday.
