Bed Bath & Beyond has finally posted same-store sales gains – the first in nearly four years.
CEO Mark Tritton, who took the helm back in November, has moved quickly to update the retailer's digital offerings, including buy online, pick up in store and, most recently, same-day delivery. A stronger e-commerce offering contributed to the uptick in sales.
Bed Bath & Beyond gained two million new customers during its fiscal second quarter. E-commerce rose more than 80%, and same-store sales were up 6%.
Its shares skyrocketed more than 18% in premarket trading.
