Best Buy Is Reportedly Laying Off Workers

The Wall Street Journal first reported that consumer electronics retailer Best Buy is laying off workers at some stores as consumer demand shifts toward digital in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. A spokesperson for Best Buy neither confirmed nor denied the report, but said that the retailer expects the changes to shopping habits wrought by the pandemic will be permanent, and Best Buy's workforce must evolve accordingly. 

Keegan Shoutz, a spokesperson for the Minneapolis-based electronics retailer, told USA TODAY that the company doesn't generally comment on specific personnel matters and didn't provide how many employees are affected.
