Instacart has made yet another retail partnership, this time with discount chain Family Dollar. With over 6,000 locations, Family Dollar is relying on Instacart to deliver online orders from its stores in as little as an hour.
Instacart has been one of the pandemic's winners as the coronavirus kept shoppers at home and pushed more spending online. Still, it hasn't been all good news, even for the grocery delivery service: Last month, Instacart announced that it would lay off nearly 2,000 of its in-store shoppers. The cuts came as major retailers began training their own employees to fulfill online orders, reducing their dependence on third-party delivery services.
Dollar Tree’s CEO Mike Witynski called the new partnership with Instacart “another example of our efforts to better meet the evolving needs of our Family Dollar shoppers.”
