After receiving a big boost from the pandemic-fueled spike in online grocery, Instacart is testing its very first convenience store partnership. The grocery delivery company will begin delivering staples from seven hundred and fifty 7-Eleven stores in a few select metro areas including Miami, Baltimore, and Dallas. Plans are in place to eventually offer delivery in as little as a half hour from more than seven thousand 7-Eleven locations.
There is no word yet on whether Instacart plans to partner with more convenience chains in the future. But as these stores look to expand their reach through wider assortment and digital options, it seems clear that Instacart and others like it are the next step in their transformation.
Through Instacart, 7-Eleven will be able to reach an even larger pool of shoppers, including the millions that have signed up with Instacart this year.
