Packages Pile Up in Retailers' Warehouses as Shippers Cope with "Gridlock"

According to ShipMatrix, a software company that helps retailers track shipments, about six million packages are piling up in retailers' warehouses every single day. In addition, three and a half million packages are being picked up by shipping companies, but are then delivered late. A big snowstorm and a massive uptick in online shopping have shippers scrambling, and the worst may be yet to come. 

"Our entire industry is underwater because of the demand [for deliveries]," said Satish Jindel, president of ShipMatrix.
