As Christmas day approaches, Target is preparing for increased foot traffic by extending store hours – and reducing special hours. Starting this week, most Target stores will open at seven in the morning and close at midnight. On Christmas Eve, most stores will close at eight in the evening. Meanwhile, Target will cut the special hours for seniors and others most vulnerable to the coronavirus from twice a week to once a week. The retailer said that if a store opens for the special hour and no seniors or other vulnerable people are waiting for entry, the store's leaders may decide to open the doors to all shoppers.
Other stores also recently extended hours, an annual holiday shopping tradition. However, amid the coronavirus pandemic, store hours are shorter than last year.
