Walmart Bets On Telehealth with Latest Acquisition

Walmart has entered an agreement to acquire MeMD, a telemedicine provider, for an undisclosed sum. The goal of the acquisition is to offer virtual medicine nationwide as part of Walmart's healthcare offering. 

Though it isn't clear yet whether the popularity of virtual medicine will endure beyond the global health crisis of the coronavirus, Walmart is betting that customers will still want the convenience of telemedicine, even when they feel safe outside their homes again. 

Walmart already offers telehealth for its own employees, but the purchase will allow its health division to provide virtual care nationwide...
