Walmart Converts Four Stores into Testing Grounds for E-Commerce Innovation

Two stores near Walmart headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas, plus two more that have yet to be announced, will become the testing grounds for digital innovations. Walmart's strategy is to leverage its huge store fleet to grow e-commerce. By testing new tools and practices in its stores, which already act as fulfillment hubs for its e-commerce programs, Walmart wants to find new ways to merge its in-store and online businesses.

John Crecelius, Walmart’s senior vice president of associate product and next generation stores in the U.S., said in a post on the company’s website that simple changes can pay off.
