In a national survey that received more than 20,000 responses, research platform Piplsay found that eleven percent of Americans subscribed to Walmart's new membership program in the first two weeks after its launch. Walmart+ offers unlimited free delivery on orders over $35, as well as other perks like mobile scan-and-go. Membership in the program costs $98 a year. Around 45% of Walmart+ members are also Amazon Prime members. 19% left Prime for Walmart+. Overall, it's a strong start for Walmart's program, especially considering that its launch took place during a time of considerable economic uncertainty.
After months of delays for the rollout of the new membership service, Walmart+ seems to have caught the attention of millions of U.S. shoppers.
