Walmart Joins India in Its Fight Against the Coronavirus

As COVID cases and deaths spike in India, Walmart is taking steps to protect its Flipkart workers and lend a helping hand to the overwhelmed Indian healthcare system. The retailer is setting up vaccine clinics for 200,000 Flipkart workers and their families, promising to cover the cost of the vaccinations. Walmart is also donating oxygen supplies to hospitals and non-government organization in India. 

Although Walmart does not operate any stores in India, it controls two of India's most important online companies: retailer Flipkart and its affiliated digital payment platform PhonePe.
