Walmart is partnering with Instacart to expand its same-day delivery capabilities in four select markets. Shoppers in San Diego, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, California, as well as customers in Tulsa, Oklahoma, will be the first to test the pilot program. According to Instacart, their personal shoppers will deliver Walmart products ranging from groceries to home improvement items to customers' doors in as little as an hour. Retail analyst Charlie O'Shea called Walmart's partnership with Instacart a "salvo in its delivery arms race with Amazon."
Walmart's latest move with Instacart also comes as the retail giant appears intent on challenging Amazon's fulfillment capabilities.
