Walmart Redesigns the Supercenter

Walmart has revealed a new store design for its supercenters. The new layout will have products grouped in sections without scattered outliers meant to be stumbled upon. Very clear signage will direct customers to these sections, and the signs themselves will match the categories found in Walmart's app. The updated design is meant to help customers find what they need as quickly and easily as possible. It's a shift from the focus on the experience of shopping that has served Apple and Target so well, and it has never been so timely as now, when the coronavirus pandemic has taken much of the allure out of carefree browsing. By the end of this year, 200 supercenters will sport the new layout. An additional 800 stores will be updated by the end of 2021.
