Walmart Reportedly Ends Bossa Nova Robotics Contract

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, Walmart has ended a contract with Bossa Nova Robotics. Bossa Nova made inventory-scanning robots for Walmart. In January, the retailer announced that it would add these robots to its operations in an additional 650 stores, which would have brought the total number of Walmart stores equipped with Bossa Nova robots to about 1,000. 

Losing the Walmart contract comes as a blow to Bossa Nova Robotics, which received its first order from the retailer in 2017. 

Meanwhile, Walmart’s robotic experiments aren’t over.
