Walmart Will Stage Drone Light Shows for the Holidays

By Sheridan Fifer

From December 4-20, in eight U.S. markets, Walmart will stage drone light shows to help customers celebrate the holidays. The events will be held in large venues where people can spread out and enjoy the show. One of them will be live-streamed on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

The drone light show is Walmart's latest iteration on retailtainment for the pandemic era. This summer, the retailer converted parking lots into drive-in theaters. This fall, it held tailgating and Halloween events outside its stores.

"After a particularly tough year, we want to help families end the year looking up. We want customers and communities to enjoy a moment of rest, peace and hope," William White, chief marketing officer at Walmart, said in the release.
