Walmart is trying to replicate online some of the best things about shopping for clothes in stores. The retailer has announced plans to acquire Zeekit, a virtual fitting room company based in Tel Aviv, Israel. With Zeekit's technology, Walmart.com shoppers can either upload photos of themselves or choose from a model look-alike to test the fit and look of Walmart's private label apparel brands or the national clothing brands Walmart sells. They can even enjoy the social aspect of shopping, sharing the virtual outfit with friends to get their input. Denise Incandela, Walmart U.S. executive vice president of apparel and private brands, called personalized virtual try-ons a "game-changer".
